Role of SPI Advisory Board
The SPI Advisory Board gives broad strategic, operational and financial advice to the Institute, which remains subordinate to the governance rules and regulations of Rhodes University, its Council and Senate.
The Board comprises of up to 12 members, each appointed for his/her specialised skills, knowledge and acumen to help the Institute fulfil its mandate of being Africa’s leading media management and leadership institution.
The Board meets once a year; it appoints its own chair whose tenure is initially for a period of three years, after which the tenure can be extended or ended depending on the consensus of the Board; and Board members will be eligible for reappointment after serving an initial three years.
